On trains:
For the transport of bicycles on trains, only the transport regulations and tariffs of the respective railway companies apply. Which tariff applies can be found on the respective websites (www.agilis.de; www.bahn.de; www.laenderbahn.com)
On RVV-buses:
In general, bicycles can be transported on our buses. Please note, however, that passengers with wheelchairs, walkers or prams have priority. If all the bicycle spaces on the bus are occupied, or if the safety and order of the operation cannot be guaranteed, passengers with bicycles must stay behind. Therefore, there is no entitlement to carriage. In case of doubt, the driver decides on the transport.
Bicycle transport is generally possible if...
- it is a conventional, single-seater two-wheeler. Folded bicycles and e-scooters are considered hand luggage and can be transported free of charge.
- this occurs outside the rush hour (Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 9:00 am). At weekends and on public holidays, scooters can be carried all day.
- only one bicycle per passenger is carried. Children up to and including six years of age who wish to take a bicycle with them must be accompanied by an adult.
The carriage of bicycles is excluded...
- with combustion engine and special constructions (e.g. tandems, cargo bikes, etc.)
- on city and regional buses from Monday to Friday during rush hour from 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
The right ticket for the bicycle:
- For the transport of bicycles, a children's ticket of the respective price level must be purchased in addition to the ticket. Bicycles cannot be transported within the scope of the transport options of the RVV season tickets.
- Special regulations apply to our bicycle buses. Accordingly, only the Biker Ticket applies here.
Please be considerate of other passengers!
If you are taking a bicycle with you, you are obliged to place the bicycle in the bus in accordance with the instructions and to secure it with the safety straps (if available) or to hold it firmly. Passages and doorways should remain free.
Care must be taken that other passengers on the bus or at the bus stop are not disturbed, soiled or injured. The owner of the bicycle is liable for any damage caused.
You can find more information on this in our Conditions of Carriage and Tariff Regulations.
